Wow! What a year FY20 was.
While FY20 will be remembered for many reasons, for me it will be remembered as the year that I struck the word “unprecedented” from my vocabulary.
There is absolutely zero doubt that the COVID-19 pandemic has had – and will continue to have – a wide-reaching impact on many individuals and companies alike, and the rapidMATION team and I will continue to support our customers and partners in any way that we can to allow them to automate, survive and then thrive once we all emerge from these crazy times.
As the proverbial phrase goes “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade” and this note is about focusing on how we at rapidMATION managed to build a lemonade stand in FY20.
Firstly, I wanted to start by saying a huge thank you to all of our customers and partners for all of their amazing support in FY20. For reaching out to us as trusted advisors during these uncertain times, for sharing in “Automation Champagne” with us to celebrate the successes, and most importantly, for allowing us the privilege to help you pervasively drive the Hyperautomation agenda in your business.
While we have always evangelised intelligent automation and how this can assist with digital transformation, one of the memes that stuck with me is the below, which talks about how COVID-19 was a huge accelerator to digital transformation in many companies in the last year.
- From implementing Intelligent Accounts Payable solutions at lightning speed to ensure that companies could pay suppliers when they were no longer working in the office;
- To spinning up Chatbots to provide employees with the latest information and advice on COVID-19;
- To converting paper based timesheets to digital forms to allow companies to pay their staff on time;
- Or even to allow onshore employees to do more, with less, when their offshore teams could no longer operate due to them not being on site.
The above just further validated how intelligent automation can solve problems for our customers at speed, how it could lead to many efficiencies for them, and how it could have a lot of immediate impact that would allow them to survive in the short term, but set up a base for them to thrive in the longer term.
The world today has changed in every sense, leaving us with a new perspective, one that encourages all of us to be prepared for any such crisis that the future may present.
With all the talk of the ‘new normal’ and what this is going to look like, there is one thing that is a definite, and that is that automation absolutely needs to be a key strategy for any company.
Here at rapidMATION our mantra is that automation is all about people and now, more than ever, we need to support our people to allow them to do more, with less.
Being privy to some of the exciting technology and innovation that is coming in the near term, we are more excited than ever by what this means for our customers and how we can continue to partner with them to drive truly transformative business outcomes.
So I leave you with this thought:
